The Minimums of Safety: Are We Setting Our Workers Up for Accidents?

Date: Tuesday, February 17, 2009
Time: 10:45am to 12:00pm
Location: Donald E. Stephens Convention Center
Code: 4B

Description:
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration establishes the standards for safety for our nation’s workforce. These standards, if followed, are expected to prevent accidents and to guide employers in providing safe and healthful working environments for our working men and women. These OSHA stan-dards are the minimum that an employer can meet to protect their most valuable asset – their employees. This session will guide participants in looking at some of these minimum standards and demonstrate how an employer can fall woefully short if they depend on the “minimums of safety.” Best practices should be implemented to provide a truly safe and healthy environment.
