Description:

The general contractor has an obligation to ensure that all subcontractors perform their work safely. In a competitive marketplace general contractors are often tempted to use low-bidding sub-contractors with questionable or unknown safety performance. The objective of this presentation is to aid general contractors to choose successful and safe subcontractors, and also using unproven sub-contractors based on their willingness to improve their overall and specific safety performance. Topics include the pre-qualification process, project safety requirements, contracting, and a system of accountability that includes measurement, feedback, and final evaluation of the subcontractor for future use.
