Hear about an innovative approach to help build a proactive safety climate on construction sites. “New Tools for Hard Hats” fea-tures Safe Talk training for workers, Proactive Management workshop for foremen, Proactive Dissemination and Campaigns for organiza-tions, and Driving Force workshop for superintendents. Lessons learned: collaboration with insurance companies, contractors, and other stakeholders including workers, instructors, union officers. Part two profiles the development of over 3,500 “peer trainers” in the construction trades to deliver training on HAZWOPER, Lead Abatement, Asbestos Abatement, Permit-Required Confined Space Entry, Disaster Response, and OSHA 10s and 30s.
