The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) has been coordinating an effort over the past year to bring together a diverse group of construction stakeholders to identify the top problems in construction. Construction is one of eight indus-try sectors using a sector council to develop a specific National Occupational Research Agenda (NORA). A major focus of the effort, which kicked off with a Town Hall meeting in Chicago in December of 2005, is to find out what issues are most relevant for construction stakeholders, and which of those issues need additional research in order to make progress. What are the “top problems” on the list? How do they compare to your own list of construction problems and information gaps? How can you provide input or be kept informed about this effort? How will this lead to information you can use? The session will report on progress and plans and will provide an oppor-tunity for you to share your ideas with members who are participating on the NORA Construction Sector Council.
